Base Requirements

Base Compensation
work-flow.biz anticipates being able to compensate workers with an above average salary and generous benefits in the future. For now, as a startup, early employees will be given stock as part of their compensation. Stock is not immediately spendable like cash, but is worth more in the long run. (Microsoft stock is why Bill Gates is so rich - not his salary.) Compensation:

"THREE-TIERED" HIRING PLAN
work-flow.biz is a highly-compensated, rewarding job. work-flow.biz has a "three-tiered" hiring plan:
Tier one: Intern
There is work work-flow.biz needs done, but it doesn't have a lot of revenue initially. There are people who want cool Internet companies in Detroit and Michigan, want high-paying jobs at Internet companies, and are hard workers. work-flow.biz will list work it needs done online with a work-flow.biz public project, and people can sign up for tasks and do them. You can be a "virtual intern," too.
Tier two: Part time
Again, work-flow.biz does not anticipate having a lot of revenue initially, and anticipates hiring its first employees - technical, etc. - on a part time and/or 1099 basis. For example, work-flow.biz might need a PHP programmer for 10 hours a week, a system administrator for a month-long upgrade, an online researcher to get information for a certain industry, etc.
By doing this well, people can demonstrate they are good workers, and put themselves in position to be hired for tier three.
Tier three: Full time
A regular, full time, salaried worker. With the generous compensation, rewarding and cool work environment, important and challenging responsibilities, etc.
POSITIONS

Sales/Educators/Evangelizers
Position description:
The first hires will be sales/educators/evangelizers. The technology is great but unknown. These are people who will go out to businesses, trade groups, and organizations; talk excitedly about the application and the power of technology; teach people how to use it; and get them to pay for it. Selling is a part of this job, and being able to "close" and get managers to write a check is important. But education is also an important part of the job - being able to explain things clearly, educate and inspire is important.

Online Researcher
Position Description:
Do research online, create spreadsheets and databases of contact information of potential customers, and set-up leads for the sales/educators/evangelizers. This will entail using technology like Google, Microsoft Excel and more to do the work in large volumes.
Position requirements:
- Above-average computer and Internet skills
- Research skills
- Technical skills like Perl ("the duct tape of the Internet"), database, etc. are highly desired
JavaScript Framework/AJAX Developer
Position description:
Create richer UI and add features based on user feedback.
Position requirements:
- Experience with a JavaScript framework like JQuery or Dojo
Public Relations
Position Description:
work-flow.biz is a great technology, but is young and not well known. This person will be familiar with media outlets and how the media works, making them aware of work-flow.biz, and getting stories written so that the public learns about it.
Position requirements:
- Public relations experience
PHP Programmer
Position description:
Maintain and develop the work-flow.biz application. Add features based on user feedback and suggestions. Scale application as usage increases.
Position requirements:
- 5+ years programming PHP
- Experience with high-volume Web applications highly desired
- Experience programming in other languages may be accepted
as some substitute
System Administrator - Linux
Position description:
Maintain the server. Back up files and secure servers. The regular SA duties. Scale capacity as usage increases.
Position requirements:
- 5+ years as a Linux system administrator
- Experience on high-volume sites strongly desired
Database Administrator - MySQL
Position description:
Maintain the database. Backup files. The regular DBA duties. Scale database as usage increases.
Position requirements:
- 5+ years as a mySQL database administrator
- Experience on high-volume sites strongly desired
Accountant
Position description:
Help work-flow.biz maintain standard financial forms, file government filings, and utilize accounting and financial best practices. Will probably outsource initially.
Lawyer
Position description:
Help work-flow.biz with legal advice relating to contracts, corporate formation, governance, taking on additional investment/selling stock, etc. Will probably outsource initially.
